EYFS visit Bocketts Farm

This Monday morning, the children from Nursery, Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 went on a fun-tastic trip to Bocketts farm.

As we arrived there, we were greeted by our farm guide Lillie. While we had snacks, Lillie and another farm guide talked about how to be safe and healthy while exploring around the farm. They talked about making sure not to throw rocks, how to properly and safely stroke and pet different animals, what to do when a tractor drives by and most importantly to always wash hands after touching animals.

We set off to the farm yard to pet some animals, such as guinea pigs, rabbits, goat, chickens and a mouse. The children also got to meet some horses called Midnight and Muffin and stroked their noses gently. Then we went off to see some piglets, llamas, cows, sheep and lambs. Lillie gave the children food pellets to feed the animals with and most of the children were very eager to feed the animals and came back for more pellets. The next fun part of the trip was when we went on a bumpy, dusty and fun ride on a huge tractor around the whole farm. We got to see billy goats, daddy and mummy pigs, cows and their calves, some llamas and sheep. Before we knew it, it was time to bid goodbye to Lillie and our furry friends.

Thank you to Nursery and Reception parents for helping out with our farm explorations. The children had a sun-sational day!
